I am now entered for Ironman Bolton 2018, just beginning my 30 week training plan that's around 20 hrs+ per week every week covering thousands of miles swimming cycling and running hours of strength and conditioning plus a strict monitored eating plan to complete

this is what a weeks training session looks like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQczMb7iNNo

2.4 mile swim
112 mile bike
26.2 mile run

All within a certain time limit if you fall behind at any stage you get hooked out and your race is over that can be around 10% / 25% of the starters dependant usually on weather with the swim claiming the most, bike failure or injury.

If you do the training, you want it badly enough, you have the bottle, then 30 weeks is compressed into 14 /15 ish hours at the end of 140.6 miles as you run the red carpet you hear those words "You Are An Ironman"

I'm with Lee, I'm too stuck in my ways to start a total rebuild.

That must be the most sweeping but accurate description of the topic Mr Weasel..

It’s not that I cannot be arsed, it’s just not my thing.

The benefit of weight loss hasn’t reduced back pain as guaranteed by the Quack, as it has returned with a vengeance....
Increased mobility isn’t a gain, as pain now reduces it...!

However... I do understand that the body is a machine that requires using....and exercise to keep it functioning.

I cannot wait to see GP.....and tell him the good news..... lost weight! He will flow into all the positives.... until I say I feel worse for it....
